We, the real landowners of Suva have been continuoslly denied of our right. Many developments have been made without our consent. We were removed from our old village in Suva by the then Government with so many lies that kept us confused on their promises. We have been moved to Narikoso which is now Suvavou Village (new Suva). Our old village covers the Vatuwaqa area, Nabua cutting through the Fiji Military Forces barracks and all the way through to Tamavua iWai then the whole City coming back to Vatuwaqa. Our sacred sites includes Korobaba (Governors House) , Naiqasiqasi (Thurston Garden) and old burial sites (Fiji Museum and part of the Botanical Garden). The Government has given a piece of our land to the Indian Government without our knowledge. THIS IS OUR LAND, THIS IS OUR HERITAGE, THIS IS OUR HISTORY and THIS IS OUR IDENTITY. At least respect our right to our Land and give back what is rightfully ours.
