The Sutherland Shire is a family focused, good local community and all round wonderful area to grow up especially if you love sports. However for tennis community it seems we are far down the list of council priorities.

The junior competition runs every Saturday morning all year round and yet the kids have to put up with erratic ball bounces and trip hazards due to the poor condition of the surfaces. Adult and senior groups also play regularly and yet there are no council bins provided and so local rubbish is dumped over the fence into the courts spectator areas. There are over grown trees and weeds not to mention the poor upkeep of the toilet facilities. 

During the Covid-19 pandemic volunteers have been taking hand sanitizer and wipes and doing what we can to maintain a safe environment but we need to see a plan with a timeline for improvements from the local council to continue to show support for this great sport that you can play at any age.
