On April 8, 2022 Tucker Carlson said on air:

I don't understand where the men are. Like where are the dads? You know, some teacher's pushing sex values on your third grader why don't you go in and thrash the teacher? Like this is an agent of the government pushing someone else's values on your kid about sex, like where's the pushback? 

As misguided as his views on education may be,   Tucker Carlson has a right to his opinions. However, neither he nor Fox News has the right to incite violence against teachers. Mr. Carlson’s misogyny is palpable as he asks for “dads” to “thrash” teachers, the overwhelmingly majority of whom are women. 

In the tradition of the schoolhouse, we the undersigned call for Fox to immediately suspend Mr. Carlson pending a full investigation of this and past related inappropriate remarks.

Furthermore we call upon both national teachers’ unions to organize a national day of action to highlight the rising animosity directed at students, teachers, administrators, and school committees.
