Gas is a market commodity and so there is very little the government can do to lower the prices. One thing they can do, however, is suspend gas taxation. Federal tax on gas is 18.4 and 24.4 per/gallon for diesel respectively. The President needs to promptly suspend those taxes so that the pain we call are.feeling at the pump will be a little bit less.
