Inside Syria, an estimated 8 million children are growing up knowing nothing but war. Across the Middle East, Eurasia and Europe, Syrian girls and boys are experiencing the stress, adversity and uncertainty of life as a refugee.
Syria has been a living nightmare for children and families tormented by seven years of war and unimaginable hardship. Recent mayhem in Syria took 120 innocent children lives. This shows us, how critical the situation is - and how desperately help is needed.
One fact is simple: Syrians need our help, Children in Syria were killed and continued to be killed.
I believe India has an important role in managing the Syrian refugee crisis because of its position as a leader in South Asia, setting an example for other states in the region, and also as shelters one of the largest refugee populations in the world.
But in reality as an Indian I can only see showering sympathy of people. is it the spirit of India to limit the support with Facebook posts, likes and shares. The picture above was a sensation in social media we were sympathetic. We are proud of our rich and varied heritage. But most answers say we should not be empathetic and help them, we refrain from taking the risk .
I request Indian Government to step up and allow Syrian refugees to gain shelter/asylum in India
According to Article 1 of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights,
"All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights". If this is true, then why do other people in other countries have shelter, work, education, peace, and yet the Syrian people don't?
