Repeal the Stream Access Bill

Across the West there is a raging storm, that storm is privatization. State legislatures and courts are turning over centuries of law to hand our public lands, waters, and wildlife to powerful, monied interests. In the world of water, the issue is whether a landowner can block public access to a stream for recreational purposes, including fishing and boating.

In 2015 a wealthy businessman lobbied for the Stream Access Bill, which Governor Susana Martinez signed into law. This bill officially closed some sections of the public waters in New Mexico you should be able to recreate in.

This is yet another example of monied interests advocating for public lands seizure and keeping you off YOUR public lands and waters.

Write to Governor Martinez today and tell her to repeal the Stream Access Bill.
