Stop YouTube From Censoring LGBT Content

Recently it has come to light that YouTube's newly enforced Restricted setting is censoring videos that have "LGBT words", such as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, etc, in the title, video description, or tags. What this means is that anybody who chooses to put their account on restricted mode will be unable to view these videos. YouTube has stated that this must be a mistake and that they are working on it and while this may be true, I want to press the matter as best I can. YouTube is a place that LGBTQIA+ individuals, including myself, turn to to find love and support. We come here looking for a place to express our feelings while at the same time feeling safe and validated. As long as YouTube keeps this policy in place it can not call itself a LGBTQIA+ friendly platform. Please sign this petition as a way of showing your support for the LGBTQIA+ community and standing up against YouTube's new oppressive policy.
