Bully Boy Tactics by DriveTech Speed Awareness Course
Why this petition matters
Drive Tech are UK’s largest provider of driver offender retraining courses. My experience and others I've found online, have experienced bully boy tactics, aimed towards those delegates who raise questions which some trainers see as questioning their authority.
They have absolute power over the delegates and make this quite clear in intimidating and threatening behaviour. We are currently in the midst of the C19 crisis and yet, on March 19th 2020, I was locked in an over crowded room with other delegates. The entrance to the room was actually locked to stop any late stragglers coming in. Such locking in must break Health and Safety regulations.
The experience was not of learning but intimidation, humiliation, belittling with constant reminders throughout how full participation was required, as he had the power to ask us to leave.
Having paid a substantial sum, I expected to be treated with respect, compassion, rather than being yelled at on mass, being told to stand up on mass. Whilst being asked trick questions, in order to make us look buffoons.
As experienced drivers, we can all make mistakes and being offered such a course, should be of benefit. Our licenses last us for 50 years before any retest, and so such a course should be of benefit. I would ask that this company's methods are looked into, as I left the course, so intimidated and conscious I was being watched, I'm sure I made more mistakes than what I'd done which put me on the course in the first place.
Education is required not just for the perpetrators but also Drive Tech on how to treat their customers.
