Keep Windlesham in the Surrey Heath Parliamentary Constituency
This petition had 556 supporters
We the undersigned oppose the proposal of the Boundary Commission for England to move the ward of Windlesham from the Surrey Heath Constituency into the Windsor Constituency.
The independent Boundary Commission is currently redrawing parliamentary constituencies to make them all of a similar size. The current, and final, set of proposals intends to move Windlesham from the Surrey Heath Constituency to the Windsor Constituency.
This doesn't affect school admissions, local council services or house prices but it would mean that instead of being represented by a Member of Parliament based in Surrey Heath Windlesham residents would be represented by an MP based in Windsor and more concerned with issues affecting people in Windsor, Ascot and the outskirts of Bracknell.
We have until 11th December to tell the Boundary Commission what local people think. Please sign this petition to object to these proposals that would cut local ties between Windlesham and its fellow villages of Bagshot and Lightwater.
