Skatepark in Redhill, Surrey

Skatepark in Redhill, Surrey
Redhill, Surrey would really benefit from a skatepark. Since Battlebridge skatepark was removed, things haven’t been the same for the local skate community. Although there are skateparks nearby to Redhill, they are not accessible for everyone as many of the local skaters are young, meaning that they do not drive or have the money to access transport.
A skatepark in Redhill would add to the great outdoors facilities that we already have. This would drive the local community and create a safe space for young people. This could tackle problems such as anti social behaviour and the use of drugs and alcohol, especially within young people. A skatepark would provide entertainment and help strengthen the local skate community in Redhill and surrounding areas. It could also encourage more people to take up a new sport, encouraging exercise. It would also be great socially as skateparks as great places to meet new people and hang out with your friends.
I believe in empowering future generations and being able to providing them with facilities, especially ones that are free to use. This could also benefit low income families who cannot afford to take their children to partake in paid activities.
