Permanently disable the traffic lights at the A30 Waitrose junction
This petition had 420 supporters
Since the new traffic lights were installed at the junction of the A30 / Waitrose it has caused massive traffic problems.
During rush hour traffic is often queued back through Bagshot, almost to Windlesham. On the Camberley side traffic is queued onto the Jolly Farmer roundabout.
The situation is unacceptable. Surrey County Councillor Mike Goodman has failed to address this problem for the last year. Changing the sequence of lights had not resolved the issue.
The traffic has a large impact on commutes, school runs and the air quality in the area.
The lights were turned off in early September 2016 which resolved the problems and had no adverse impact on vehicles entering/leaving Waitrose.
We therefore request that the lights be permanently turned off.
