The residents surrounding the abovementioned intersection are opposed to the city’s planned roadwork and request the current plans be abandoned and new plans be used.  Specifically, we request:

1. Abandon the plan to construct a “traffic button” at the intersection of 158 St. and 26 Ave. due to the serious safety concerns for pedestrians and an unnecessary waste of taxpayers’ money. Instead, a set of low-cost, raised crosswalks should be constructed at the intersection.

2. Construct a mid-block crosswalk between 26 Ave. and 27 Ave. to allow pedestrians to safely cross 158 Street

3. Abandon planned roadwork in front of 2609 158 St to preserve the trees, shrubs and flowers on the site.
