Special train between Belagavi and Bengaluru

Dear Minister,

Belagavi having the reputation of second capital of the state Karnataka lacks the train connectivity with state capital Bengaluru. As Bengaluru being the IT hub and the state capital, there is large amount of people travelling between these cities. All the travelers are dependent on either the State or Private buses, or the only convenient train “Rani Chennamma” departing at 6.45pm from Belagavi.

The bus transportation between the two cities is always in demand due to the unavailability of convenient train. It has turned as Gold-Digging route for the Private bus operators, and they operate with their own rules and fares. These Private bus fares are very high and reach unexpected peaks during weekends and festive seasons affecting the regular commuters between cities. Though the SWR is recently running Special Trains during festivals, they never served the purpose for Belagavi people as they are either scheduled early to depart from Belagavi and they arrive late at Belagavi.

Belagavi railway station is an "A" Category Station under South Western Railways and it is the primary railway station serving Belagavi city. There has been always demand for dedicated night train between Belagavi and Bengaluru vice versa at a convenient time (after 8pm from both stations i.e KSR and SBC). We the Belagavi people, request a special daily train to serve the regular commuters. This will help the common people and will bring down the Private Bus operators’ extortion.
