Earlier today evening, the police looked on as students and teachers inside JNU were being brutally beaten with hockey sticks and lathis by mobs of masked faces (allegedly ABVP members). Video footage shows people in masks charging towards students with Hockey sticks right before the camera goes off because the person taking the video is brutally beaten.

Status Quo:

People taking ambulances towards the University campus were stopped midway and their vehicles were vandalised. AAP's official account has tweeted that Delhi police is denying ambulances entry into the University campus. Street lights up to 1-kilometre stretch from the campus have been turned off.

In a city where even 4 people aren't being allowed to stand together to peacefully protest, the police looked on as mobs with lathis and hockey sticks marched on inside JNU. Professors and students are in hospitals and at least 2 of them are in a near-death condition. This is just as of 2 hours after the protest.

If the Supreme Court takes suo moto notice of the matter and summons the Commissioner of police directing him to take action, it will go a long way in supporting the civil liberties and rights of the protestors.

Let's come together to urge the Supreme Court to speak up for the citizens of India.
