As an African American, I've had to explain basic natural behaviors to my attorneys to understand me enough to represent me. Example explaining why it took hours to wash and braid my child's hair and how very important it is to keep a family together. Judges are even harder to relate to.

These Committees determine whether or not each individual is "qualified" for the judgeship he or she seeks. The hearings held by the Courts' Committees are open to the public and the public is given an opportunity to appear before the Committees if someone so desires.
