Adarsh Srivastava started this petition to Supreme Court of India and

After the Bangladesh Liberation War, On 16th December 1971, Pakistani Army General, A A K Niazi signed the Instrument of Surrender. 93000 Pakistani Army Personals were taken as Prisoners of War in India and 54 Indian Army Personals were taken as POW in Pakistan.

After 8 Months of surrender, An agreement was singed on 2nd July 1972 between the President of Pakistan, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Prime Minister of India, Mrs. Indira Gandhi which mentioned about the bilateral relations, bilateral negotiations , settlement of differences by peaceful means, development of friendly relation and peace resolutions of every dispute between the nations.

In short, This agreement was an approach to spread the peace and friendly relation between and among the two nations. According to this agreement, India and Pakistan had to resolve each and every dispute through peaceful resolution.

After the acceptance of this agreement, India released all 93000 Pakistani POWs. Indian Government expected the same from Pakistani Government but unfortunately, no such step was taken.

In 1979, after 8 years of war, a list was released in the Lok Sabha Assembly of Indian Parliament which consisted of the names of all the POWs of 1971 War.

After this, Indian Government had a conversation with Pakistani Authorities about this issue, But from then till now Pakistani Authorities claim that they have released all the POWs from their territory. After this, Indian Government published the status of those missing POWs as "Killed in action".

But, from the last 50 Years of war, family members of those missing POWs got several proves of their existence in Pakistani Jails. Those proves included letters, magazines, etc. They also tried to reach out the Ministry of External Affairs to request them to look into this matter and resolve this issue. But Unfortunately, This could not happen due to diplomatic issues.

Now, most of their family members have lost hope but some of them still believe in justice of Indian Government and just because of that, they are still trying to get their son, brother or father back. But, they are just trying and not getting results.

Nowadays, Technology has grown up and many online facilities are available in order to interact with the government authorities. Although, these facilities were not available 50 years ago, As a result, It was not easy for all the family members to contact the government authorities and raise their voice, but now it is possible.

I am neither a family member nor a friend of any POW, But I am an Indian and a human, and for the sake of humanity, It's my duty to help every person whom I see in trouble.

I want to help all the Indian POWs in returning them to their nation. I don't want their family to loose this hope. I know, It's not easy, But still I need support of every person who is reading this petition because the sign of each and every reader will increase the chances of returning of those heroes to India. That's why, I request everyone to sign this petition and take a step towards humanity.
