Police in Delhi brutalizes students or watches idly while others do it.

Hospitals are not touched even in wars. In Mangalore, police charges into hospital chasing protestors.

UP police takes away minors and changes their DOBs in certificates to charge them as adults. These kids are brought to the hospital later with rectal bleeding. Rectal bleeding! 

Protests in non-BJP ruled states are peaceful without any incident.

But we have seen how police stood with hands folded before Kuldeep Sengar. We know what happened in Thoothukudi.

What does this mean? That in BJP ruled states police follows the whims of their political masters. Harsh Mander has said that in UP regular official channels were set aside and lower level policemen were directly ordered by the politicians to do what they did.

We can be sure that there might be similar examples under different governments.

We want this to change. We want that Police should follow the Constitution of India and not what some politician says. Police departments across the country should be able to say 'no' to politicians without fearing for their careers. Police should be made independent of political interference.

 Let us start a petition for this. The first step is the hardest. Let us start here and now.
