Supporters of Valley Village Small Businesses: Stop Dept of Building & Safety eliminating vintage signs of Valley Village

Valley Village businesses on Magnolia Blvd. are over 50 years old. The Dept of B. & S. wants to replace all existing eclectic vintage signs to new uniform signs with strict size and style dimensions . The owners of the property and the business owners have been served and bullied by the department. Fees and costs will be given to the city for these unnecessary alterations. Small businesses are stressed by a faltering economy. These struggling small shops are expected to pay without question or recourse. They are not even allowed to know who complained against the charming shopping area. The current signs are not unsightly and are vastly important to the livelyhood of Valley Village businesses. Small retail shops need less scrotiny , and more support from local, state and federal governments in general.
