Support Veteran's housing!
The solution to homelessness for our veterans and homeless friends is housing with wrap around supportive solutions embedded into the housing program. The project to transform the Golden Motel into housing includes case management and the supportive help that they need. Supporting this project will help 169 individuals get off the street and into a clean supportive place to live. Lets work to solve homelessness together, rather than leaving these individuals to wander the streets. Tell the County Board of Supervisors that this is the solution.
Get informed and engaged. The support and management they receive in this project will help to address the deeper issues that lead to their homelessness. Here is some information about the Proposed Project. Here is a link to the group that will do the management and redevelopment of the property Mercy Housing.

Please write a personal letter of your support to Michelle Bush at firstname.lastname@example.org. Here is an example:
Dear Michelle Bush ,
I am writing to urge your support of the Mercy Housing Project on Rosemead Blvd. The County of Los Angeles has recognized that the most effective way of helping our veterans and homeless individuals is through permanent supportive housing. I believe that our community is stronger and safer when every person has a safe place to sleep and call home. Through this project, Mercy Housing and New Direction will be providing 169 unites of supportive housing for veterans and formerly homeless individuals. This means that those who are selected to stay in the housing will be connected directly to resources to help them stay housed. Rather than being a blight in the area, housing communities such as this run by Mercy Housing have proven to create a positive atmosphere for life change for the residents, and a lasting positive influence in the surrounding area.
***SHOW UP **** A very important public hearing with the Los Angeles County Regional Planning Commission will be on WEDNESDAY, JUNE 21st, 2017 at 9:00 AM at the Hall of Records in downtown Los Angeles (320 W. Temple St. Room 150).
