I am angry that the Council put children last in this borough, we have a duty of care towards children ( and by that I include the Council ) it is disgusting that they are disregarded, they are the future, Older people will also use the crossing, The council are playing with their lives too, They are your past , this is pure money grabbing by this council, they are your present , Respect the past, respect the future, change the present !

I have a lot of family who live in Chingford and there has been a lollipop man or lady for the best part of 40 years, why are the council making cuts that will lead to tragedy. I don't understand the way you can just stop a service that is so badly needed and depended on my many people. The Council should be ashamed of itself. Disgusting.

The council can install yellow boxes, cameras and fund staff to monitor them to issue fines to generate an income. If they can do that they can install traffic calming measures to protect children and continue to fund a lollipop person to help children cross the road safely.
