Toni Vaz is the Founder & Creator of the prestigious NAACP Image Awards created 1967 and in 2020 at 98 years old NAACP Hollywood Bureau finally recognized Toni Vaz with the Founder's Award title bestowed upon her. She was extremely grateful to finally be recognized and receive her just due after waiting over 50 years for this monumental moment.

Toni Vaz, born December 11, 1922 turns “100 years young” THIS YEAR and this legendary actress deserves a 'STAR' on Hollywood's Walk of Fame for her contributions to the entertainment industry and also as a pioneer as Hollywood's 1st black stuntwoman who was treated less than humane in feature films back in the late 1940s. Toni, a dark skinned actress in Hollywood, was saddened by the lack of positive roles offered to dark skin women and this sparked her interest to become an activist. She wanted better roles for herself and all people of color in Hollywood and took action.

In those days, accolades were the main method to show appreciation for her work in movies such as; "Tarzan," "The Poseidon Adventure" and "Porgy and Bess" with Sidney Poitier and Sammy Davis Jr. There were no major publications or social media imprints to chronicle her contributions in Hollywood to her family, friends and fans around the world. Toni doubled for legendary actresses Cicely Tyson, Eartha Kitt, Juanita Moore to name a few. Vaz has performed over 20,000 hours as an extra and stuntwoman.
