Hello everybody! This is Shannon with the JDGC. We are proposing a nice little pitch and putt 9 hole course at Treadwell with putters and 100-150' holes. We have presented to the public last week at the beach and had a great discussion about safety and disc golf. We are presenting our plan to PRAC next week and would like to come to the table with some additional signatures in support of the course. 

The proposed temp course has been designed off the major cross country width trails by local course designers with experience playing at courses all over the country. We want to install the course temporarily to see if this use can co-exist with the current trail system. I personally have played over 20 times at the Treadwell course and never encountered any walkers or dogs. We use putters and do NOT throw at 50 miles per hour as some would like to believe, those distances are for longer holes, not what we are proposing at Treadwell.

We have taught about 1000 children from K-12 how to play disc golf in the schools in the 2021-22 school year and will continue to do so until disc golf is available in all of the schools as a gym activity. The gym equipment has been donated by an amazing non- profit, Uplay. They just went to Haines and Skagway last month to teach at the schools. We hope to have teams competing with each other from our SE communities in the next few years.
