The Newburgh Ministry is a multi-cultural, grass-roots organization focused on building a better future in the city of Newburgh, New York. Through support programs and housing assistance, we've been helping those in most need for more than 30 years. Newburgh has been grappling with income inequality, rampant poverty, and housing shortages for decades, and all of these problems have been exacerbated by the pandemic. Skyrocketing inflation and stagnant wages are forcing more people than ever to rely on community organizations such as the Newburgh Ministry. Our goal is to construct a new housing facility that could accommodate 50 individuals and help revitalize the community by repurposing a currently unusable plot in the downtown area. We know this project has a groundswell of support behind it, but we're asking for signatures to clearly demonstrate how necessary this project is for the city and its residents.
