PROBLEM: The Township of Lower Makefield in Pennsylvania has owned historic Patterson Farm since an eminent domain taking in 1998. In the ensuing 22 years the once-pristine landmark farm that was a source of pride in Lower Bucks County, has  fallen into neglectful disrepair. Income from the farm is spent elsewhere while the historic site crumbles. In more than two decades elected officials have never formulated a farm management plan. SOLUTION: Patterson Farm Preservation, Inc., a 501c3 non-profit volunteer citizens group was formed to accomplish what Lower Makefield Township officials have FAILED to do, restore and provide caring stewardship to our beloved Patterson Farm. WHY SAVE PATTERSON FARM? In the year 1683, Quaker immigrant Thomas Janney, William Penn's Provincial Counsilor, settled Patterson Farm. Over three centuries of American history and agriculture have taken place there, from the Lenni Lenape Native Americans to modern day farming. We must not allow this important historic site and agricultural asset to be lost to the ravages of time and apathy. YOU CAN HELP: History Matters! Agriculture Matters!
