Support research and help find a cure for Parkinson's disease

Parkinson's disease is a progressive disorder of the central nervous system affecting more than 1.5 million people in the United States. Clinically, the disease is characterized by a decrease in spontaneous movements, gait difficulty, postural instability, rigidity and tremor.

Living with Parkinson's disease can have devastating effects upon the patient and family.

There is hope — research is the key to understanding and ultimately curing Parkinson's disease.

Since 1961, the American Parkinson Disease Association (APDA) has focused on research, patient support, and education to ease the burden and find a cure.

APDA relies on its supporters to help overcome hurdles that can slow the development of effective treatment and cures. Together, we can reduce the time it takes to develop new therapies and drugs and gain approval from the Federal Drug Administration — a cycle that often takes 15 to 20 years today.

Pledge to support Parkinson's research and patient support. By signing on today, you help spread optimism and support to those struggling with Parkinson's disease.
