SUPPORT PWDs IN KIDAPAWAN CITY
Why this petition matters

PWDs have been a part of the community ever since there were humans, in fact the oldest records of PWDs go back to biblical times. PWDs have as much right if not even more than people with no disabilities. The sole problem why PWDs aren’t seen on jobs as much as people with no disabilities are because of opportunities.
Based on the 2000 Census of Population (CPH) and Housing results, the proportion of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in the Philippines was registered at 1.23 percent. There are 104.9 million people in the Philippines on a census taken in 2017, so if you calculate how much PWDs there are, that sums up to about 1,320,800.
There are a lot of people that are unemployed but it is stated that out of all the unemployed, the PWDs are the ones who are needed to be paid attention to the most. We can reduce this number if we help these PWDs and get them the opportunities they deserve.
We saw a McDonald’s crew member who is deaf and mute and the establishment put up a sign in order to help the customers communicate with the member to take their order. They simply just point their order and then do the gestures that are shown on the sign to communicate to the member.
It may not be easy to help every PWD but at least we can try because trying is better than doing nothing. There are solutions to every problem, we just have to find it. We are asking for the people and the government to help us on this endeavor to make a better community and better future for everyone.
