Because Council must keep this facility for the young people, it helps them to have somewhere to go, keeps them off the streets.

Newbury is a great town with lots of activities for adults. What it’s lacking are facilities for the children to participate in sports and an all weather facility at Newbury Town Football Club could be used for a multitude of events to keep them entertained, building new friendships and interests. This could also generate a significant amount of revenue to help bring sport to all, young & old.

Growing up in Newbury it was my local ground. I played for Newbury Ladies. It must stay important part of Newburys heritage.

Sporting recreational facilities are essential to bring and keep communities together (look what the World Cup did for nation this year - wonderful unity). Sport helps towards getting the nation fitter, bearing in mind what an obese nation we are. Sport is also good for mental wellbeing. The youth need these facilities. We do not want Newbury to become an urban concrete jungle of flats, resembling an inner city! Build flats then remove outdoor recreational spaces. Madness and a receipe for disaster. Keep our football ground, please. Thank you.
