Our organisation Inverkeithing Hillfield Swifts are a SFA Quality Marked Community football club and a registered Scottish Charity SC043580. The club has had significant growth since its early days early in 2000. Since then, the club has grown from strength to strength and we are currently developing boys and girls of all ages in non competitive and competitive teams at every age group from age 4-18. We currently have over 500 registered boys and girls registered at our club and over 100 adult volunteers.
The Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015 enables community organisations to request the ownership, lease or management of publicly owned buildings or land, whether or not these are available for sale or deemed surplus to requirements.
We have identified that the Ballast Bank Community Centre is currently under used, lacks investment and is currently being run at a financial loss to Fife Council. We plan to engage with all current users of the centre and the wider community to open the centre 7 days per week, enhance the facilities through investment for all users and develop the range of services that the centre currently provides for the benefit of Inverkeithing and the wider community. We plan to work with the local community to improve
- Regeneration of services for young people
- Public health and wellbeing
- Social wellbeing and tackling anti social behaviour
- Developing Sport for all in the local area
We are using this platform as an initial community consultation from local people and by signing this Petition we can evidence to Fife Council that our initial community consultation is supported by the residents of Inverkeithing and surrounding areas.
Please support our petition.
