We, the residents of the Cobbs Creek neighborhood and surrounding community, support the Cobbs Creek Foundation’s plans to revitalize the Cobbs Creek Golf Course.  

We are excited about this project, which will create a sustainable community center, restore this historic landmark, provide needed resources to local students, introduce a new generation of youth to the sport of golf, and preserve the area for decades to come. 

The Cobbs Creek Golf Course was one of the finest public golf courses in America when it opened in 1916, welcoming Black players decades before other courses allowed them to play. We believe these plans will celebrate that history by reopening the course permanently, providing economic growth to the community and region, improving flooding conditions and other environmental concerns near the creek and making this long-neglected property safer and more accessible to all.
