The Navajo Nation Council is considering the repeal of the Diné Marriage Act of 2005, a discriminatory law that bans same-sex marriage in the Navajo Nation. With the leadership of Council Delegate Eugene Tso, Legislation #0108-22 was reintroduced to recognize marriage equality among the Navajo people and protect the rights of our Diné women.

This bill will expand protections for same-sex couples, recognize current marriage licenses, ensure equal benefits for all, and update Title 9 to ensure Navajo women have equal rights as men.

Your support will send a message to Navajo leaders that we are an inclusive Sovereign Nation and we accept our LGBTQ+ family members.
