EMS in Manatee County is in need of an overhaul providing the hard working and dedicated staff better pay, better benefits and better working conditions.  Since 2021 nearly 100 employees have either resigned, retired or been terminated from EMS with at least 30 in 2022 alone according to a recent public records request.  Staffing shortages are causing ambulance shut downs, delays in arrival times, and exhausted EMS personnel.  

No amount of pay or benefits can compensate them for what their eyes see, their ears hear and  their heart feels when faced with the loss of life while performing their job for those of us in Manatee County.  Please show them your gratitude by signing this petition and emailing those commissioners who sadly will only recognize their worth when it is he/she or their family directly affected by the current staffing shortages and delays in response times and the unfortunate risks to lives that matter…ALL LIVES MATTER, including the lives of those who we call upon for help in our time of need. They deserve equitable pay and benefits for their sacrifices, emotional, mental and physical, in serving  those they are called upon to render aid.
