Under what circumstances does a math teacher need to be saying a racially motivated slur? The answer is none. Recently Kerri Rogers, a white math teacher at John Jay used the N-word multiple times in the presence of her class, upon hearing it and calling her out, our fellow classmate Damien Robinson took it to multiple administrators hoping to get support on the issue. Instead he was met with opposition by Jeanine Chapin and sent to ISR. I encourage you guys to call for action to be taken against this teacher, who REFUSES to admit wrongdoing while damien continues to be punished for speaking out. Racial slurs in 2022 can not continue to be tolerated and the black students in this building deserve a safe environment.
