The majority of blood cancer patients eligible for transplants in the US are insured with Medicare.
With the goal of finding more matches for blood cancer and blood disorder patients, DKMS relies on transplant centers to facilitate the lifesaving transplantation process. To ensure this continues, transplant centers nationwide need to be compensated fully for all services provided with respect to transplants. H.R. 4215 takes a big step in that direction. But for this to happen, we need to reassure transplant centers nationwide that they will be compensated financially for all services provided with respect to transplants.
DKMS, as well as other bone marrow transplant organizations, encourage you to sign this petition in support of H.R. 4215, which has been endorsed by the National Marrow Donor Program.
We urge you to reach out to your representatives in Congress now! Let them know how important this is in the fight against blood cancer and ask them to cosponsor the Protect Access to Cellular Transplant (PACT) Act, H.R. 4215.
H.R. 4215 - To amend title XVIII of the Social Security Act to ensure that providers of services receive adequate payments for the acquisition of hematopoietic stem cells under the Medicare program, and for other purposes.
