Caroline Ohagan started this petition to Supplement brands in Australia, especially Practitioner only Product Brands

We, the Practitioners and Consumers of Practitioner only Supplements and Products, are calling for the Manufacturing Brands of said products to reduce their plastic usage, dramatically.

We understand that plastic is a cheap and cost effect method of packaging, but as representatives of the Natural world and its therapeutic value, we must be considerate of the impact that our packaging has, not only from a recycling and reusing perspective, but for the processes and wastes needed to create such packaging.

There are several ways in which you could reduce and replace your plastic packaging. For example;

- Replacing plastic bottles and containers with glass, and offering a return scheme whereby bottles and their caps can be reused over and again.

- Offering the sale of products in bulk, to be dispensed by the practitioner into glass bottles purchased seperately. This would allow for repeat customers to have a literal refill.

- Investigating plastic alternatives. There are great strides being made into alternatives - hemp plastic is far more sustainable, for example.

- Using paper, cardboard waste, or organic matter as packing materials instead of packing peanuts, which although "compostable" rarely are, and are not beneficial to compost, especially in the quantities we receive them. Bubble wrap is also extremely wasteful and toxic to our environment.

- Offering alternative collection/delivery methods so as to reduce packaging.

There are probably other ideas out there too, but for now these will be a great start!

Please consider our opinion, and the impact your current practices are having on our global and local environments.
