Let them have their tantrum and explain to them you'll be there for a cuddle when they are ready. Calling a child naughty and using the term 'naughty' steps creates a self fulfilling prophecy and will lead a child to believe if they are going to be called naughty anyway without a chance to communicate why they behaved the way they did, they mayswell continue that kind of behaviour.

You don't need to implement Jo Frost's cruel and antiquated methods to 'discipline' your child, you don't need to be a pushover to gently discipline.
