Supermarkets to give training/policies against large voucher purchases to prevent scame
Why this petition matters
Recently a friend was targeted by scammers to the value £1500. Tesco allowed this person to be served for over 20 mins and sold them over £600 worth of online vouchers as they do not have any policies to identify potential victims, and also do not offer any training of what to look out for.
Surely in today's society where bar staff are trained to stop serving people considered to drunk, over 25 rules etc. It would not be hard for these large companies to put into place training that if someone is buying over £100 worth of online vouchers the employee asks what the vouchers are for and if they suspect a scam a manger is called who is trained to deal with these situations.
We need the government to enforce a duty of care onto the sellers of vouchers to just ask what large quantities of vouchers are for.
