Stop the Christmas creep!

Every year retailers are displaying and selling Christmas items, and restaurants are displaying Christmas decor and trees,  earlier and earlier - the Christmas creep. 

How are children supposed to understand and acknowledge that Halloween and Christmas are separate events, when items for both are on sale at the same time? 

Children/adults with autism,  emotional-obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), anxiety, depression, disruptive disorders, attention deficit hyperactive disorder(ADHD) etc., may see  items in shops as visual cues for what time of the year it is, an internal calendar.  

Can you imagine thinking it must be Halloween/Christmas soon, then having to wait, and wait, and wait, and wait.  Or even worse - not understanding  the concept of waiting for that long, and the possibility behaviours being triggered. 

This all has massive impacts in social settings, at home and at school.  

Let’s get this petition signed to limit when Christmas can be for sale!
