aisha hussain started this petition to Supermarkets

Our keyworkers are the back bone to keeping our country moving through this pandemic.

The supermarket staff both in stores and warehouses are putting their lives at risk of either catching or spreading the virus by packing, unpacking and distributing the food that the public then buy.

These workers work for peanuts anyway but even more so they have been working even harder through the past year with bigger volumes due to panic buying through lockdown.

Several other smaller retailers have rewarded their staff with a minimum of an extra weeks wage for their efforts, support and help through these awful times. Yet the big well known supermarkets have not. These workers are keeping your fridge full of food keeping your cupboards stocked whilst putting themselves on the front line. These workers are the forgotten key workers.

All key workers should be given some sort of a reward just like some small retailers have done especially being the big 5 that haven't done so.

These company's need to value the efforts their staff have truly put in to the company and stood by them through these times, they have families, they have elderly family too just like everyone else.

PLEASE could the retailers look into rewarding their staff with appropriate rewards for their efforts like some of the smaller retailers have done.

Thank you
