Large Supermarkets Selling all Shapes of Food to End Food Waste

Large Supermarkets Selling all Shapes of Food to End Food Waste
Why this petition matters
Large supermarkets have criteria for fruit and vegetables. Large supermarkets only accept food that is a certain length or shape to be sold in their stores. This causes 7.6 million tons of food to be wasted each year.
There are 8900 grocery stores in Australia and each of them is contributing to food waste and world hunger.
Nearly 7.6 million tones of food in grocery stores is thrown out annually or this wastage equals about 312kg per person.
Poverty is the leading cause of world hunger as people simple can't afford food or they lack the resources to grow their own food, such as arable land and the means to harvest, process, and store food.
To end world hunger would cost just $30 billion US dollars but in a single country over $100 billion US in cost of food are wasted
More food than we can consume is being produced and all of it goes to waste. The global production of wasted food is costing the global economy close to $940 billion each year. Signing this petition will draw attention to this issue from large supermarkets that can have a positive effect on our environment and on food wastage. No one cares if a banana is a bit more curved or a carrot looks a bit weird please sign to make a difference in the way supermarkets choose which foods are saved from the tip.
