Dress code is mostly targeted towards girls and I think it’s something that needs to change. I have seen many girls at my school getting dress coded for a hole above their knee that is not showing anything inappropriate. Most of the dress code rules always say “may” meaning it may be inappropriate but half the time it’s not. Now onto crop tops and spaghetti straps. Crop tops should be allowed as long as they are not exposing anything, most crop tops only show your stomach which is something that girls my age shouldn’t be worried about covering. Spaghetti straps only show your shoulders nothing else so that should have not even been a problem in the first place. Shorts are another problem not much for girls in my school but for boys. I’ve have seen many boys wearing shorts that are not fingertip length but no one ever told them anything about it, but if it was a girl it would’ve been a whole different situation. Now last is leggings, half the time they are not showing anything. If they’re see though I get it, but if it’s not, then what’s the point? To sum the whole thing up, if it’s not exposing anything then there is no reason to change anything.
