We want less school work to keep students and teachers sane. Less school work will give everyone a healthier way to process what’s happening in the world right now, even though it’s been over a year, it’s still overwhelming and nothing like anyone has experienced before. For the past year, both students and teachers have been heavily impacted with distance learning, from kindergarteners to senior in high school and to teachers etc. Students’ mental health have been deteriorating from the overwhelming amount of work given by teachers. Many students, especially teenagers have been neglecting their studies because of the amount of stress and anxiety it has given them. A majority of high school students have failed a class or classes due to lack of motivation. Doing nothing but staring at a screen all day, getting useless and glitchy words thrown at them and then given a copious amount of work that one is supposed to “learn” from isn’t learning. At this point, students just submit work without even gaining any material from it. Then teachers have to deal with unmotivated and careless students that put stress on them as well. It goes both ways, yet neither realize how much of a negative impact both have upon each other. Teenagers have been more likely depressed during these times, everyone I personally know has been extremely unmotivated and depressed. That’s not a healthy sign for this generation. Whether you share or even read is heavily appreciated!
