Asynchronous Wednesdays have been one of the good things that have come from Covid 19 teaching. The students can make personal, scheduled meetings with the teacher, and work through problems that align with their personal needs and goals. Teachers can use Wednesdays to catch up on grading, lesson planning, and the other extensive responsibilities that comes with hybrid teaching. Teachers and students alike rely on these asynchronous days to stay on top of school work, grading, and mental health. Many students have expressed their annoyance about the proposed removal of these days, and so we urge those who this may concern to keep the asynchronous Wednesdays, and not fix something that isn't broken.

Pine Road, Murray Avenue, and High school students are not completely similar. While having synchronous Wednesdays may be necessary for young students, it is not for High school ones. Many of us thrive on having the one day a week where we can seek help when we need it, work through work on our own, and take a bit of time off of the screen. We are on the computer for seven hours a day, 4 days a week, and having a day in the middle of the week where we don't have to be sitting still at a desk taking notes is extremely beneficial.

While there may be some comments on this post that seem to purely want asynchronous Wednesdays in order to sleep or slack off, that is not the case for the large majority of us. We want to succeed just as much as you do.

For the sake of the students of Lower More land High school, please sign this petition and keep Wednesdays asynchronous.
