There is a rapidly growing number of Korean students that attend Allen ISD. At the moment, there is no "LOTE" (Language Other Than English) class offered at the high school or any of the three middle schools, Ereckson, Ford, and Curtis. The new Chinese course was added due to the influx of Chinese students in the area; Korean students are in the same situation, yet no new "LOTE" class has been proposed.

The Korean culture is popular among today's youth for a variety of reasons, perhaps most notably, K-Pop. This class would not only allow those who are already familiar with the language to receive their language credits necessary to graduate high school in the state of Texas, but also offer other students a look into the diverse heritage and history that studying Korean can offer.
