We are promised from a young age that in this country we will treat one another equally and preserve liberty and justice for all. Over the course of time, this sentiment has evolved from applying to only white land-owning men, to poor men, women, minorities, and members of the LGBTQ community. Looking at our society today, it is clear the fight against racism and bigotry has a long way to go. One constant reminder being the mascot of our St. Henry's high school, The Redskins. 

As promoters of liberty and justice we have a moral obligation to fight for these values wherever they are not upheld. In an effort to put an end to stereotyping and racism, remove the Redskins as the mascot and team name for St. Henry's High School.
