Allow Students of WCHS to bring mobile devices on campus

As a student of Washington County High School I see the demand for the allowance of the bringing of mobile devices on school campus. While a demand that seems very reasonable, many do not see it as such.
Cell Phones in the pockets of students while on campus isn't a radical idea from elsewhere. Hundreds of schools allow it and benefit from it. They use it as a tool for effective learning and a strategic way to cut down on the expenses of funding provided. They provide a genuine sense of security for some students who feel unease about the events around us.
This petition is seeking the WACO Board of Education to reform the allowance of mobile devices by lifting the prohibition on their allowance and implementing a policy that would atleast allow students to bring such devices and only use them at times determined appropriate by the Board.
Expanding a child's access to an array of learning outlets is important and while we may have the joy and ability of using Chrome Books and IPads, those have a large cost that prevent the school system from focusing on updating classroom supplies or the overall living environment for many.
Please take this all into consideration and join the other schools that allow such practice by implementing an effective yet flexible policy at the beginning of the 2019 school year.
