Let's face it, having a regular-ass bear as a mascot is boring, cliché, overplayed- I could go on and on.

Cutting straight to the chase, I think one thing every Potsdam student can agree on is that it's time for a change, and I have just the idea. 

If you're aware of the "Sun Bear" you know exactly where I'm going with this. The sun bear is a bear that looks like some dude in a bear costume. They have a crescent shape thing on their neck/chest area and they have a long, freaky-lookin' tongue. This exactly what we need for a new mascot. Polar bears are scary and I want them as far away from me, my picnic baskets & my pet penguins as possible. The sun bear, however, is a cute, awkward looking omnivore with a heart of gold (and a long, freaky-lookin' tongue, of course).

While sun bears are just as aggressive, if not more, and will 100% kill you if you mess with them, they're much cuter and smaller in my opinion, so let's give them the chance they deserve. I mean, c'mon no one's perfect!

Max C. Bear (or however it is you spell it) has had his fun in the sun, but now it's time for "Max C. Bear" to return to his "Max C. Pad" and hibernate, because a new bear's in town: "Sun E. Bear the Sun Bear"! 

Let's show Potsdam the true power of what a long-ass tongue can do! C'mon fellow Potsdamners, who's with me?!
