Commencement is a milestone celebration of the completion of our degrees. It is an opportunity to invite our families and friends to join us in our accomplishments. I understand that the commencement ceremony is normally held in the STUAC auditorium. However, I propose that the football field be used for commencement of the 2022 graduating class.

The class of 2022 has many reasons to celebrate.  Two of our college years were disrupted by the coronavirus pandemic.  Given that mask wearing is no longer mandated, being able to be outside and to invite more guests will allow us to truly enjoy the day.

 I will be circulating a petition to determine how many other students also want to use the football field as the commencement location.
