Why this petition matters

It is very common these days for people to be commuting from one location to another. Whether it's by car, plane, boat, horse, bike, walking, or other, people are outside now more than ever.

I can honestly say that I have never been in a situation where I thought, "man, I wish The Sun was brighter." But I can say that I am almost constantly in a state looking for or wearing sunglasses anytime I find myself outside. The sun is too bright. Plain and simple.

If I can be perfectly fine walking around my home in the middle of the night where the only light source is my phone screen pointed at the ground, I'm pretty sure we can afford to dim the sun just enough so I can still see while driving towards it.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying we should get rid of the sun completely. It's actually very helpful when it comes to seeing things, growing plants, and making me not as cold. But do we really need something that is so bright that we can't even look at it? It just seems unnecessary that we have something in the sky that is so bright it will literally burn you if you are in it too long.

So the real question is, how much should we dim it? We will have to let them figure out the exact amount, but my suggestion, The Sun seems almost perfect anytime it is behind a large cloud. I'm not saying we should permanently move a cloud in front of it, because the sun does indeed have its own charms at times...but maybe that amount of brightness is ideal. It doesn't really even seem like that much, but I feel that it would truly make a difference for many people.
