Provide more services at peak times on Magnetic Island


Magnetic Island residents are not being provided with an adequate level of public transport.  This is thus having detrimental effects on the community as a whole.

Sunbus Queensland
I just signed the following petition addressed to: Sunbus Queensland.

To whom it may concern,

I am writing to you to express my concern over the level of service provided by your company on Magnetic Island. Although Sunbus is a business, it also provides a public service, and at the moment Sunbus is not meeting the public’s needs.

The major issue affecting local travelers is overcrowding on buses. Too few services during peak travel times means that locals who depend upon the bus service as their primary mode of transportation are being left to wait for the next bus.

There are further consequences to people being left behind; local businesses suffer when employees are unable to arrive at work on time, and children’s education is affected if they are unable to get to school on time.

Sunbus’ poor service is causing detrimental effects to the Magnetic Island community. Although Sunbus may run as a business, please keep in mind that Sunbus customers are not always on holiday and do not have the leisure to simply wait for the next bus.

I kindly ask that you review your current timetable and provide more services, particularly at peak periods of travel.
