In a nutshell, composting is the natural process of recycling organic materials, such as leaves and food scraps, into a rich soil called compost. Composting is a more environmental-friendly alternative to landfills. Through the use of composting, the amount of garbage in landfills each year can be cut down significantly due to the fact that food, leaves, grass clippings, some forms of soiled paper, and more can be naturally recycled back into the environment, resulting in a less polluted earth! On top of this, compost is amazing in aiding plant growth. If Sun Valley High School was able to have a composting station, the school, student body, and surrounding businesses would not only be able to help the environment, but cut down on the cost of garbage collections as well as give the community access to free compost to use for their plants come spring. Please aid our cause!
